England 1-1 Ireland May 29, 2013

90' +2
Sammon charges in to win the ball in midfield, but Hendrick knocks it out first time for a throw. Only seconds left to find a winner now.
90'
Jagielka is penalised on halfway and the visitors can have a brief respite from all the pressure. The defender rises above Sammon to nod the free kick out for a throw.
89'
It's almost exclusively being played in the Ireland half as we enter the closing moments. Can England find a late winner?
87'
Oxlade-Chamberlain is off to be replaced by James Milner for the last few minutes at Wembley.
86'
Halff-hearted appeals for handball as Defoe hammers a shot in, before Rooney finds Walcott, who tries to squeeze it in low from a tight angle but Forde saves easily.
84'
Great chance for Oxlade-Chamberlain! Walcott darts forward and it breaks to Rooney, who tries to slot a pass back to the winger and it deflects into the path of Oxlade-Chamberlain, whose low effort is diverted over by Forde. Probably should have done better, though, the Arsenal man.
82'
Conor Sammon is on for Trapattoni's men now, replacing Jon Walters to go up front, meaning Cox has moved out to the right.
81'
Carrick plays an excellent pass through for Defoe, but it comes off the striker's heels as he tries to collect the ball. England still have it and Jones crosses from the right, but St Ledger produces a solid clearance.
79'
Almost calamity for England as Foster spills a deflected McClean cross on to the head of Walters. It falls to Simon Cox right on the line but the flag goes up. Massive let-off for Hodgson's men, there.
77'
The hosts have a corner at the other end and Rooney swings it in, but once again Forde comes out to claim well, with Cahill challenging strongly. He's been superb at dealing with crosses tonight.
75'
Carrick concedes a free kick 35 yards out and McClean tries an audacious effort but bends it too far wide of Foster's near post.
73'
Rooney is penalised for shirt pulling and the visitors have a free kick in their own half. Jeff Hendrick comes on to earn his second cap, replacing Glenn Whelan.
72'
England are well on top now, but can they find the winner? Jones recovers from a mistake to win it back and the hosts are in possession again.
70'
Oxlade-Chamberlain is the latest to have a shot, but again it's from long range and it slices away from goal. At the other end, Long wins a free kick halfway inside the England half after a foul by Jagielka.
68'
Walcott has another effort at goal, this time with his left foot but it's fairly tame and Forde collects easily. England are on top of this one at the moment but there's been no real danger to Ireland yet. Meanwhile, Sunderland's James McClean comes on for Aiden McGeady.
66'
Robbie Keane comes off the field having won - quite incredibly - his 124th Ireland cap. Nottingham Forest striker Simon Cox is the man to replace him.
65'
Lovely counter attack from England as Oxlade-Chamberlain sets Defoe going, and the striker squares it to Walcott, whose low effort is bound for the near corner before Forde turns it behind.
63'
It's not quite had the zip of some periods of the first half, this second 45. Rooney sees a shot blocked before Walcott's cross is plucked out of the air by Forde, but again England aren't creating too much.
61'
Coleman floats a ball over the England defence for Long to chase, but the striker is flagged for offside and the hosts regain possession.
60'
McCarthy darts forward down the left for the visitors, but Cahill reads the danger and comes across to put it out of play. Very good defending.
58'
Coleman produces an excellent piece of skill to pass Oxlade-Chamberlain and eventually drives an effort which deflects off Jagielka and behind.
57'
Oxlade-Chamberlain tries to set Walcott loose through the middle but he overhits the pass. The winger can't quite keep it in play but England end up winning the ball back.
55'
Walcott is cleaned out by Kelly 25 yards out and England have a good chance. Baines' first involvement is to blast his effort straight into the wall.
54'
And that's that for Cole's tenure as captain tonight. He marches off to be replaced by Leighton Baines, while Cole's club-mate Lampard gets the armband.
53'
England are in possession and Rooney plays it wide for Oxlade-Chamberlain, who steps inside and lays it off for Lampard. The Chelsea midfielder fires a first-time effort well wide of the post, though.
51'
It's fairly quiet at Wembley this evening, and the game has entered a bit of a lull to match, with both sides exchanging possession before Cole is penalised for a foul on Walters in the centre circle.
48'
What a chance for Cole! Rooney dinks a lovely pass over for Walcott who volleys first time across the box, and Cole is denied by an Ireland clearance just yards out. Still no international goals for him, then.
47'
Michael Carrick gives the ball away with a poor pass but he works hard to make up ground and slide in to put it out for a throw on halfway.
46'
We're back underway at Wembley and England get things going.
It looks like Ben Foster will replace Joe Hart, meaning his international retirement is officially over, while Phil Jones will be on for Glen Johnson in a straight swap at right full-back.
James McCarthy is another who has impressed in the Ireland midfield. You can bet there will be plenty of interest in the Wigan man over the summer.
Elsewhere tonight, Germany are hammering Ecuador 4-1 at the break, with Lukas Podolski putting his side in front after nine seconds!
Plenty for Roy Hodgson to chew over at the break, then. England's have looked threatening at times, but they haven't been good at keeping the ball or dealing with David Forde's long kicks down the middle.
HALF-TIME at Wembley and it's 1-1 after what turned out to be a very entertaining half. Shane Long and Aiden McGeady have been excellent for the visitors, with the former's delightful header putting them ahead. Rooney has looked in good form for England, as has Frank Lampard, whose close finish rightly means we go in level at the break.
45'
Replays show Rooney may have tugged Keane in the box there, but the referee didn't give it and it remains all square.
44'
Excellent, excellent challenge from Gary Cahill as he slides in to stop McGeady in the area. Had to get that one right. The corner swings in and it deflects off a defender into the path of Keane, but England manage to clear before he can get a shot away.
42'
Johnson and Walcott again link up on the right, and Kelly takes out the Arsenal winger. Lampard swings in the free kick but Cahill can't direct a header towards goal.
40'
Forde's long kick bounces all the way through to Keane, who nods it down for Jon Walters, but the Stoke man's first-time volley flies way over the bar.
38'
Walcott skips past Kelly with ease and bears down on goal, firing it across the six-yard box but Coleman does superbly to hook it away and keep it level.
37'
It's Ireland's turn to press forward and McGeady, who has been everywhere so far tonight, tries a long-range effort with his left foot which flies harmlessly wide of Hart's far post.
35'
This is still very even at Wembley. Rooney spreads it wide to Oxlade-Chamberlain, who fires in a shot with his left foot but it's comfortable for Forde and he holds easily.
33'
Sturridge's game is over after going down in an earlier attack with what looks like an ankle injury. He's stretchered off to be replaced by Jermain Defoe.
32'
Johnson and Walcott link up well on the right and the defender rolls a pass through for the Arsenal man in the box, but St Ledger comes across well to clear.
30'
Glenn Whelan hammers it straight into the wall but they win back possession. McGeady tries to slot a pass through for Keane but England gather and slow things down.
29'
Jagielka is penalised for a foul on Long, who is causing all sorts of problem in the air. Good chance for the visitors, here.
27'
It's slowed down a bit after that slightly hectic ten-minute period. England are stroking it around well, with Rooney looking particularly  good on the ball. Johnson attempts a cross but Ireland clear their lines.
25'
It's straight up the other end as Ireland win a corner and Cahill diverts it behind for another. The hosts eventually clear the ball and push forward but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain blasts his cross way over the men in the box and behind for a goal kick.
23'
GOAL!! LAMPARD LEVELS IT!! Daniel Sturridge picks it up on the left and dinks a cross into the six-yard box, and Sean St Ledger shanks his clearance straight to Lampard, who gets around the defender before slotting it past Forde to square the match.
22'
Long and Coleman link up again, this time on the right, and the striker hammers a low ball into the box looking for Keane, but Hart does well to get in front of the Irishman and gather.
20'
England are piling the pressure on now. Lampard fires in a cross with the outside of his right foot but both Jagielka and Cahill go up for it, and the former ends up heading it way off target.
18'
Glen Johnson tries to get forward and hammer in a shot, but it comes off Rooney and dribbles behind for a goal kick amid cheers from the travelling fans.
17'
The hosts win a corner and Lampard swings it in, but Forde does really well to claim it at the far post. England have yet to create anything meaningful in front of goal.
16'
That really was an excellent goal. Long has looked good in the air already tonight and he gave Phil Jagielka no chance. England have the ball as they look to get back in it.
13'
LONG PUTS IRELAND AHEAD!! It's a superb finish from the West Brom striker, who gets on the end of a delightful inswinging cross from Seamus Coleman with a massive leap to head the ball past Joe Hart. Excellent goal.
11'
Michael Carrick fouls Keane and Trapattoni's men have a chance to launch it forward. Forde's high ball is cleared but the Irish still have it until Long accidentally runs the ball out of play for a throw.
9'
England have shaded it so far in terms of possession, but haven't created any chances yet. It's all fairly slow at the moment.
8'
Shane Long does well to hold off a challenge from Gary Cahill and wins a throw deep in the England half. The hosts eventually win the ball back and are in possession again.
6'
Rooney tries to slot a ball through for Lampard but it comes back to him and he tries a shot only to see it blocked, before Lampard concedes a free kick on the edge of the Ireland area.
4'
Robbie Keane has the first effort of the match, but his shot from 20 yards out drags well wide of the post and England get the ball back. Lampard lofts the ball over for Wayne Rooney, who tries to lift a volley over the goalkeeper but it goes wide.
3'
England enjoy some early possession and Theo Walcott wins a corner, but Stephen Kelly challenges well to put it behind for a corner. Frank Lampard's ball in is cleared and the visitors have possession.
1'
Ireland get the friendly underway.
