  • This is the first in a five-game series of games for the USA. The team faces Germany in a friendly on Sunday, before embarking on World Cup qualifiers against Jamaica, Panama, and Honduras.

Edgar Castillo, Joe Corona, Fabian Johnson, Danny Williams, and Michael Bradley will all join the roster after this game due to club commitments.
  • Belgium will also have a depleted roster, as Nicolas Lombaerts, Axel Witsel, Nacer Chadli, and Eden Hazard (injury) went back home, while Vincent Kompany and Christian Benteke will likely sit with injuries.
  • USA defender/midfielder DaMarcus Beasley has 99 caps, and is set to become only the 13th U.S. player to earn 100 caps.
  • Belgium is currently tied for first place in Group A of UEFA qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, with a 5-1-0 record.
  • Several USA and Belgium players are teammates on the club level including Tim Howard, Marouane Fellaini and Kevin Mirallas at Everton, Brad Guzan and Christian Benteke at Aston Villa, Clint Dempsey, Jan Vertonghen and Moussa Dembele at Tottenham, and Sacha Kljestan, Thomas Kaminski and Guillaume Gillet at Anderlecht.
